Prevention Services

Prevention Services

Through the Illinois SAPP Grant, RICCA has provided Prevention services and programs along with community support for over 30 years.

We offer direct services for individuals and families in Rock Island, Henry and Mercer counties. These services include:  Youth Prevention Education in area schools (Too Good for Drugs), Teen and Parent communication campaigns, Parent/Family Education, Youth Advisory Committee (YAC mentoring), National Prevention Week participation (awareness activities), DEA Prescription Drug Take Back (information dissemination), and a Resource Directory that provides information about resources available in our area.

As a Direct Services provider we also promote the Illinois Youth Survey (a self-report survey administered in schools, designed to gather information about a variety of health and social indicators) as well as deliver a  number of other supplemental services.

Resulting in our involvement with the Youth Advisory Committee, we have started The Difference Committee which acts as a space for teens to have a voice in the community, hosting special events, bi-weekly meetings, and much more.
For more information on how to get involved with The Difference Committee, please visit www.thedifferencecommittee.com.
